Freedom is a valuable commodity in today’s contemporary era. Its meaning has evolved more than the physical absence of oppressor but has taken various forms and substance.

Freedom of choice is one of the most common deprived forms. A lot of people have physical freedom but cannot choose the life they want for themselves. Most of the time authorities or their own families like the parents manipulate the lives of their children. Some cultures also dictate the life of the individual like for instance the parents decide the future husband or wife of their children (as in the terms of fixed marriages) even if the parties do not even feel the same way.
Modern day slavery includes inhumane working conditions. There are many cases of abusive work arrangement like no wage for overtime beyond the normal and acceptable. Working conditions are extremes but these laborers bear the hardships since they needed a living to survive. This leads to another curtailment of freedom.

Many people across the nations suffer injustices and even force labor because of lack of resources particularly in terms of monetary capacity. Financial Freedom is vague for them and they struggle everyday to survive. Even average earner people suffer from lack of Financial Freedom. They wade from one payroll to another, thriving to meet food, shelter, clothing, and all the necessities to survive.

Each one of us has been deprive in one way or another the freedom we deserved by many outside the realm of our personal lives. Internal freedom is a surreal concept but very difficult to attain. Where terror exists and threats are everywhere, many cannot live a life not thinking about security, safety or peace. The fear creates a ripple inside one’s being causing internal freedom to be highly illusive.

Since Freedom could never be absolute, every day we continue to grasp the freedom we desire for ourselves. Though this is a constant struggle, the journey itself makes this life worth living.
